Implementation
After an initial period focused on internal auditing and action tracking, the focus moved towards rationalizing and integrating the BMS. We achieved a seamless transition to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018. Subsequently, we have integrated health and safety aspects of the management system, achieving ISO 45001:2018 certification. Our engagement with Connect Catering has not just been challenging and gratifying, it's also been great fun - and the lunches are always appreciated. Long may it continue.
We don't just bolt together different standards, we carefully merge them, seeking synergies and avoiding duplication. We do all this in sympathy with the strategic aims and cultural needs of the organisation. In 2019 Connect Catering came first in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For. We like to think our approach to ISO compliance via an integrated BMS played a small role in that achievement.
Deliverables have included: gap assessments; target operating model; integrated audit, review and improvement programme; BMS manual; office health and safety manual; business scorecard, incorporating goals and KPIs; enhanced action tracking; successful certification to four ISO standards.
