Orange Chemicals
Orange Chemicals operates an international sales and logistics network for bulk chemical distribution.
Despite a long and strong track record of compliance and performance, the company was keen to use the scheduled ISO 9001:2015 transition as an opportunity to overhaul their QMS and upgrade to a more business-focused solution. QFactorial proposed and designed a Business Management System which reflected the reality of operations set within a framework of leadership and improvement processes.

Implementation
With no prior experience of the chemical distribution sector, our first task was to spend time with the team to understand the business context, stakeholders, drivers, operating model and critical quality/safety aspects. From this we mapped the entire business process on a single A4 sheet then built a slim BMS Manual around that core. Our work included establishing a business scorecard, action tracker, enhanced internal auditing, strategic management reviews, and a new legal compliance process.
The more time we spend understanding the client’s business model, the less time we need to create the right management system for them.
This project was especially satisfying - one of those happy situations where the preparation, planning, collaboration, development and implementation all seemed to gel together perfectly. Even the certification process itself was administratively seamless (not always the case) and the auditor was both thorough and pragmatic, despite the usual time pressures. We’ll accept our share of the credit, but everyone should take a bow!

“We engaged QFactorial to develop a Business Management System (BMS) that was closely aligned to the operational activities and objectives of the company, and that would also embrace all elements of ISO 9001:2015.
Through a series of face-to-face meetings with senior management QFactorial were able to grasp the inner workings of the business and successfully develop the BMS. A step-by-step approach enabled both parties to modify and fine-tune all necessary areas to arrive at the approved system to be adopted.
The outcome was perfect. The new BMS fulfilled the company’s criteria while at the same time it fully complied with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. It was subject to assessment by BSI on 1st August who were happy to confirm all areas were compliant, without issue. QFactorial – a job very well done.”
